Bruce MacGunnigle – 26

William Anthony Spencer (gravestone No. 23) only lived one year and 7 months.

According to Audrey Mae’s mini-biography of William Anthony, he is the son of Audra (gravestone No. 53) and  Benjamin (gravestone No. 54) Spencer. See following:

amss-gravestones-53-54-married

Audra is the first daughter of Richard Anthony (“Deacon”)(gravestone No. 6) and Roby (née Tarbox) Spencer (gravestone No. 5).  Richard Anthony (“Deacon”) is the sixth child of Huldah (née Johnson)(gravestone No. 1)  and Patriot John (gravestone No. 2).

Both William and Anthony are Spencer names that have been repeated in many Spencer generations by this time in history and continuing.

Of special interest to Audrey Mae, John Edward and Edith Anna is that their grandfather, John Johnson Spencer (gravestone No. 8) was the older brother of  this William Anthony Spencer of gravestone No. 23.

Spencer descendants do not know the reason for William Anthony’s death at such a young age.

Spencer, Johnson, Goff and Tarbox, descendants, if you have any additional information on William Anthony Spencer, please add a comment to this web site and the web site editor will add this to the site.  Thanks!”
